SUMMER QUEST

Entering grades 3–6 (and up to grade 8 on wet 'n wild quests)
SIGN UP FOR 1 QUEST, GET THE 2ND QUEST HALF OFF!

What can you explore in one week? Anything and everything! We’ve got activities galore—and truly something for everyone—in this summer’s specialty week-long camps. Return to favorites from the past or participate in brand new offerings this summer. Summer Quest is now offering both half and full day options. Those quests noted with an asterisk (*) offer both options. Full day fees are only $50 more for the entire week! Summer Quest half-day campers will join Camp Olami for flag pole at 9 am before breaking off to explore their Quest specialties. Full day campers will have a lunch break at 12:30 pm and then swim and enjoy additional specialty areas in the afternoon.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE*
June 18-22

Be a part of the craze! Learn the basics of game play and throwing techniques as well as expanding on previous knowledge and skills. Learn to master your forehand, backhand and hammer throws.


COLOR SPLASH!*
June 18-22

A dot here, a dab there, a few brushstrokes, and voila! You have a masterpiece comparable to the Mona Lisa or Monet’s Water Lilies. But how do you get things to look three-dimensional? How do you mix the color orange? Discover the magical world of painting and turn those brushstrokes into everything from people and animals to landscapes and shoes. Learn different painting techniques using tempera, watercolors, and more. Create works of art that will make you proud!


DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY*
June 25-29

Here’s your chance to capture the world one photo at a time. Learn about action and still shots, how to use Photoshop, improvised images and how to take a really great picture. Photos will be displayed at the JCC as a Summer Quest exhibit. Campers must bring their own cameras.


FENCING*
June 25-29

Fencing is serious fun and has grown to become one of the most popular sports for children. This camp covers basic blade actions and the conduct of a fencing bout with an in-class tournament on the last day. All equipment is provided.


WET 'N WILD
July 2-6

Can’t get enough of the local water parks? You bring the sunscreen and we’ll provide the fun. Make a splash as we visit a different water park each day. Don’t forget your swimsuit and towel for a “wet ‘n wild” good time! Extended to grades 7 and 8.


(NEW!) MAD SCIENCE NASA: JOURNEY INTO OUTER SPACE*
July 9-13

From Earth’s atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system, this hands-on program will send you on a quest for exploration! Comets, planets, stars and more are all waiting to be discovered. Learn the challenges of space travel and living in space and participate in a rocket launch.


WHICH WAY TO BROADWAY*
July 9-13

Sing, dance, and act your way into the spotlight! This camp is designed to help you develop characters, learn vocal projection, prepare songs, and dance like a star. We’ll work on scenes from your favorite musicals to help you hone your skills. Put on your dance shoes and warm up your vocal chords, because you’re going to Broadway!


OUTDOOR ADVENTURES*
July 16-20

Back by popular demand! Being outside in the summertime has never been so fun. Join the Three Rivers Park District once again and have the chance to participate in a different activity each day such as canoeing, fishing, wall climbing, archery and more!


FLAG FOOTBALL*
July 23-27

This outdoor camp is designed to teach you the basics of football including throwing, catching de-flagging, defensive positioning, sportsmanship, playing positions and the rules of the game. Build on last year’s skills or start from the basics.


(NEW!) JEWELRY AND BEADS GALORE!*

Create beautiful bead and jewelry projects in this creative camp. You will be able to take all of their wonderful projects home to wear or to give as gifts!


WET 'N WILD 2
July 30-August 3

Did you miss the first Wet ‘n Wild week? Or did you have so much fun you’d like to join us again? You bring the sunscreen and we’ll provide the fun. BEND, FLEX, MOVE...DANCE!*
August 6-10

Learn to dance like Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani or Justin Timberlake in this new, energetic quest all about the basics of hip-hop dancing! Hip-hop is a fun and easy style of dance that everyone can do, even if you have no experience. Together we’ll choreograph and perform a hip hop routine that will have everyone moving to the beat.


(NEW!) CLAY ANIMATION*
August 6-10

Clay and Digital Animation - what a perfect combination! Working in teams, you do it all – from story development to making the characters and sets. Create your own clay characters and props. As you learn the production process, you will animate record, download, assemble and edit your own movie. Become a cinematographer as you create your own unique production. Use the same tools used by today’s best known animators to bring your ideas to life!
