IN MEMORY OF
MARSHALL SIEGEL

Marshall Siegel
Marshall and his son Paul

Marshall was a steadfast supporter of the important mission of the Sabes JCC and was a regular presence in the Fitness Center for many years. In fact, Marshall was one of the first people to show up for his daily work-out each morning at 5:30 AM! He enjoyed schmoozing with the JCC staff and he looked forward to hanging out with the other early morning regulars. One of the things Marshall loved most about the JCC was the diversity of the people he met and interacted with there. He spent time with people in their twenties, people in their nineties, and every age in between, and that is something that only happens at the JCC.

Marshall had a great sense of community and understood that supporting the Sabes JCC enables community needs to be addressed. This awareness and commitment was born in his youth during the Depression. His family’s financial struggles were lessened by being able to depend on services offered by the JCC and the community. Since the community was there for him when he needed it, it became very important to Marshall to give back. Marshall loved life and he gave of himself and philanthropically with great pleasure; never feeling that it was a burden. It brought him great joy to support the multitude of services and community-building opportunities offered by the JCC. Along with his friend and business partner Max Rutman, Marshall is a named-donor of the JCC’s Fitness Center. Marshall will be remembered by the Sabes JCC family as a warm, gracious, and generous presence in our Center and a role model in our community.

We are so grateful to Marshall’s family for their support of this year’s 7th Annual Machers Golf Tournament, and we thank all of our players and sponsors for helping to honor Marshall through this tournament in support of scholarships for those in need at the Sabes JCC.

SWING FOR SCHOLARSHIP All proceeds support scholarships provided by the Sabes JCC to any community member in need. Financial assistance is available for families in the Early Childhood Center, senior programming participants, membership, summer camp experiences for youth, special needs individuals, and so much more.

As the need for financial help for our programs and services increases, support from the community is crucial. The JCC serves more than 1,000 individuals and families every day with all ages benefiting from our diverse programs and services.

The money we raise through a fun day of golf, good food, community and friends makes it possible to provide these experiences in an inclusive environment through scholarships. Our recipients thank you from the bottom of their hearts for your generous support.
