The Mission of the Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival is to foster a stronger sense of identity among the Jewish community and reach out to the broader diverse community at large to educate and increase awareness and understanding of Jewish culture through film. The MPLSJFF endeavors to present the best feature films, documentaries and shorts from around the world on themes of Jewish culture and identity. It is through contemporary film that we move beyond our usual boundaries to experience different ideas, cultures and lifestyles.

It is dedicated to using film for its contemporary, popular value to reflect the diversity of the Jewish experience. The Festival is an opportunity to heighten awareness of this diversity around the world to audiences of all backgrounds. Through its eclectic programming of films in different languages, the Festival strives to break down stereotypes and racial barriers. MJFF hosts filmmakers from all over the globe, and presents panels, workshops, and a variety of free programs as part of the Festival’s annual programming. The film festival will be held April 8-18, 2010. Deadline for film submissions is December 31, 2009. There is no entry fee. Criteria: Foreign language films must be subtitled in English Preview copies must be labeled with the title, director's name, running time and language(s) spoken in the film Exhibition formats: 35mm, BetaSP and DVD Enclose and/or e-mail full contact information, film data, and publicity including: Shipping preview copies to MJFF are paid by sender.
