Sabes Foundation Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival
March 5-15, 2009

The Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival presents the best feature films, documentaries and shorts from around the world on themes of Jewish culture and identity. It is dedicated to using film for its contemporary, popular value to reflect the diversity of the Jewish experience.

The Festival is an opportunity to heighten awareness of this diversity around the world to audiences of all backgrounds. Through its eclectic programming of films in different languages, the Festival strives to break down stereotypes and racial barriers. MJFF hosts filmmakers from all over the globe, and presents panels, workshops, and a variety of free programs as part of the Festival’s annual programming.

     
 

Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival Co-sponsors The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

The Sabes Family Foundation Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival is co-sponsoring a screening of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas at Landmark's Edina Theatre. The film is based on the best-selling novel by John Boyne. Learn more about this special film at www.boyinthestripedpajamas.com. (Rated PG-13)

Volunteer – See Movies for Free!
Do you like to watch great films?  Do you want to be part of an amazing Jewish cultural experience? Then you need to volunteer to help during the Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival, March 5-15. Films to be shown at various venues in the area. Volunteers will serve as ushers or help with ticket sales.  The time requirement is 1 hour prior to the start of each film and through the end of the film. You’ll help to pass out surveys at the end of each film. Volunteers will get to see the movie for no charge.  If they help at three movies they will get a pass for another movie of their choice.  (Does not include Walker Art Center Closing Night).
